VAN DIEMEN'S LAND, Thrupp, Henry, Black Boy, Old Beach (April 12th) 1823, Half A Dollar, 'I Promise to Pay the Bearer, on Demand Half a Dollar Value received ( ) No ( ) Half Dollar, (Henry Thrupp), vertically at left side some of Henry Thrupp Black Boy Old Beach, (note mentioned and illustrated in Vort Ronald Colonial Currency & Promissory Notes p.114). Torn and frail, large pieces missing, holed stuck to backing paper, an incomplete note, poor-fair and very rare, the only published example of this issuer.
