HADRIAN, (117-138 A.D.), AE sestertius (28.10 g). Rome mint, struck c.134-138, obv. around HADRIANVS AVG COS III P P, bareheaded and draped bust right, rev. around traces of FELICITAS AVGVSTI, S C in exergue, Hadrian, holding roll, standing right, and Felicitas, holding caduceus, standing left, clasping hands, (S.-, RIC II -, Strack 644, Banti 332. BMCRE 1501 note = E. Gohl. "Contributions au Corpus Numorum Romanorum [Mat‚riaux du Mus‚e national hongrois … Budapest]," RIN XX (1907) 98). Hard dark green patina, with some surface roughness on reverse, very fine/fine with a great late portrait of Hadrian, very rare.
