GERMANY, Johannes Gutenberg 500th Anniversary, 1900, in bronze (64.5mm) obverse, bust l., shields with Arms of family and City of Mainz below, inscription 'zur 500 Geburts-Fejer des Johannes Gutenberg Juni 1900 Majnz'; reverse, robed figure of Gutenberg standing, cap in hand, centre, being crowned with laurel wreath by female figure to left, printing press to right, inscription in exergue 'der heute noch ob unsere werken schwebtin tausendfachem raederspiele lebt: unsterblicher gedanke sei gepreisen'. Nearly extremely fine.
