LANARKSHIRE, Lanark Mills, four shillings and sixpence, a Charles IIII Mexico City eight reales, 1802FT, countermarked with 'Payable to Lanark Mills' in a circle, incuse 4/9 in centre (Manville 71) (c1804-10). Countermark softly applied, otherwise fine, coin very fine and rare.

Ex Christies, 27 February 1979 (lot 22), Walter Allen (lot 59), W.J.Noble (lot 1593) and K.A.Hicks collections.
