PHILISTIA, (Palestine), Uncertain mint, (c.Mid 5th century - 333 B.C.), silver ma'ah or obol (0.79 g), obv. helmeted head of Athena to right, rev. owl standing right, head facing, olive spray behind, [palm tree] above four pellets before, (S.-, Gitler & Tal, 'The Coinage of Philistia of the Fifth and Fourth Centuries BC' Pl.H[XII,7O] p.168-9; HGC 10, 610). Fine - very fine on a squarish flan poorly struck but about as struck, very rare.
