EGYPT, Kingdom of, Ptolemy I Soter, as satrap, (323-305 B.C.), silver drachm (3.71 g), Uncertain standard, Alexandria mint, stuck in the name of Alexander III of Macedon, circa 311 B.C., obv. diademed head of Alexander right, wearing elephant's skin headdress, rev. Athena Alkidemos advancing to right; to right an eagle standing right on thunderbolt above **DI*, downwards to right **ALEXANDROU*, (cf.S.7752, Svoronos 34, Zervos Issue XIII, cf.SNG Cop.14 [tetradrachm]). Very fine, toned, areas of roughness on reverse, very rare.
