SEPTIMIUS SEVERUS, (A.D. 193-211), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 200-1 (3.83 g), obv. laureate head of Septimius Severus to right, around SEVERVS AVG PART MAX, rev. around RESTITVTOR VRBIS, Septimius in military dress standing to left, sacrificing out of a patera over a lighted tripod and holding a spear, (S.6357, RIC 167a, RSC 599). Toned, nearly extremely fine.
