BYZANTINE, various rulers, from the Cherson mint, Justin II, with Sophia, (565-578), AE 26, eight Pentanummia or follis, (9.11 g), Cherson mint, struck 570-578, obv. Justin, holding globus cruciger, and Sophia, holding cruciform scepter, standing facing, both wearing nimbus crown around [XEP CONOC], rev. Large H; to left Justin standing facing, wearing nimbus crown and holding long staff surmounted by staurogram, cross above, (S.605 (under Maurice), DOC Murice), MIBE 158c); uncertain issues probably Romanus III Argyrus or Romanus IV Diogenes, (1028-1034 or 1068-1071), AE 21 - 24, Cherson mint, obv. P/W monogram, rev. [Cross crosslet on two steps; pellets flanking], (S.1764 (Romanus I), Anokhin 456 (Romanus IV), DOC 32-33 (Romanus I), BMC 30-31). Fine - very fine, first with green oxidation. (4)
