Dioscuri r. in linear frame, ROMA, trident below horses; Anonymous Issue, silver denarius, issued 211-208 B.C., Uncertain Mint, 4.06 grams, C.111/1, S.276, Sear Aelia 1 (p.10), BMC Italy 116, Obv. Head of Roma r. X behind, border of dots, Rev. Dioscuri r. in linear frame, ROMA, AL(ligated) below horses (illustrated). First coin fine, second good very fine and very rare, (2,3). (2)
The second coin issue Crawford assigns as being struck from less than 10 obverse & 12 reverse dies. See BMC Plate LXXX1,16. The issue was perhaps struck by an Ailius (Aelius) not otherwise known (Crawford p.197).
