C. CONSIDIUS PAETUS, silver denarius, issued 46 B.C., 3.98 grams, Rome Mint, Crawford 465/2a, Sydenham 991, B. Considia 2, BMC 4084, Obv. Laureated head of Apollo to r., behind A, dotted border, Rev. [C]. CONS[IDI] above curule chair, in exergue PAETI. Toned, good very fine and very scarce, (1436).

Ex C.Pitchfork Collection and previously from the Duke of Northumberland Collection, sold at Sothebys, London, November 4, 1982 (lot 439 part). This is the Specimen described on p.46-7 by Rear Admiral Henry Smyth 'Descriptive Catalogue, A Cabinet of Roman Family Coins belonging to His Grace the Duke of Northumberland K.G.', published 1856.
