NERO, (54-68 A.D.), silver denarius, issued 64-65 A.D., Rome Mint, 3.23 grams, RIC 53 (Original RIC 45), BMC 74, C.119. Obv. Laureate head of Nero bearded to r. around NERO CAESAR AVGVSTVS, Rev. IVPPITER CVSTOS, Jupiter, bare to waist, seated l. on throne, r. hand holds thunderbolt, l. hand long sceptre. Uneven patination, otherwise very fine and scarce, (84).
