FAUSTINA SENIOR, wife of Antoninus Pius, (died A.D.141), silver denarius, (3.09 g), issued 147, Rome mint, obv. draped bust to right of Faustina, around DIVA FAVSTINA, rev. Ceres standing to left holding long torch and corn ears, around AVGVSTA, (S.4582, BMC 408, RIC 360, RSC 78); another (3.01 grams), issued after A.D. 147 at Rome mint, obv. DIVA FAV STINA, draped bust to right, rev. CERES, Ceres standing to left holding corn ears and long sceptre, (S.4591, RIC 378, RSC 136). Toned, nearly extremely fine. (2)
