GORDIAN III, (238-244 A.D.), silver denarius, issued Summer 241 A.D., Rome Mint, 3.45 grams, RIC 129, C.186, Obv. Laureate bust of Gordian III draped and cuirassed to r., IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG around, Rev. PIETAS AVGVSTI around, Pietas, veiled standing facing with head to l., raising both hands. Some spotting, otherwise extremely fine, (336).
