GERMANICVS MAX V around, trophy of arms, on each side of it is bound and seated captives, trophy has large shields; another issued in Joint reign 257 A.D., Lyons (Lugdunum) Mint, 2.66 grams, RIC 22, C.397, Cunetio - (0 spec.), Obv. Radiate bust of Gallienus to r., draped and cuirassed, IMP GALLIENVS AVG around, Rev. Radiate bust of Gallienus to r., viewed from behind, IMP C P LIC GALLIENVS AVG around, Rev. VIRTVS AVGG around, Soldier standing to l., holding spear and leaning on shield. Generally good fine - extremely fine, second coin scarce, first two toned, (479-483). (5)

The inscription IMP C.E.S. (Imperator cum exercitu suo), is unusual. It relates to Gallienus who on the occasion of any victory (eg. over Germans) ascribes the victory to the intervention of Jupiter. The army also joined in this religious act.
