PAIR: British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19. 7155 A-Cpl R.D.Rumsey. 49 Bn A.I.F. Both medals impressed. Uneven toning on reverse of first medal due to removal of double sided tape, otherwise extremely fine.

Together with patriotic medal with ribbon brooch bar, 'British Empire League Newton 1915', medal reverse inscribed , 'Military Comp/Won by/34 "A"/ Sgt. Rumsey'.

Robert David Rumsey, shop assistant, stated age 18, born at St Peters, Sydney, NSW; Enl.31Jul1916 at Bathurst, NSW; previous service of 4 years with cadets, 34A Bt (Enmore, NSW); Disch 26Sep1916 as under age (only just turned 17); Re-Enl.13Aug1917 at Brisbane, Qld under name of R.D. Ramsey (this later amended by Statutory Declaration); Emb.02Mar1918; RTA 14Sep1919; Disch.09Oct1919.
