IMPERIAL SERVICE MEDAL, (GVR) Star type. Thomas G. Foster. Engraved. Nearly extremely fine.

Together with case of issue by Elkington, London and letter from Home Office, Whitehall forwarding medal.

Awarded in recognition of meritorious services as an officer in the Postal Service. Thomas George Foster served as a postal worker for most of his working life, mainly at Greens Norton, a village in South Northamptonshire. He died on 19 September 1929 at age 71 and is buried at Towcester Cemetery.
