TRIO: 1914-15 Star; British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19 with MID. Lieut. S.Hooke. 11/Lond.R. on first medal, Lieut. S.Hooke. on last two medals. All medals impressed. Extremely fine.
MID: Second Supplement to LG 11/1/1918, p795 - Lt. S.Hooke, Machine Gun Corps (late Lond. R.).
Served at Gallipoli until evacuation, then Egypt and in Palestine at Gaza. With the Machine Battalion, Hooke was involved in operations which culminated in the Second Battle of Gaza and it is likely that this is the action for which he was Mentioned in Despatches by General Murray, Commanding-in-Chief, Egyptian Expeditionary Forces.
With copies of several London Gazette pages, medal index card and notes about Lieut Hookes' wartime service.
