ANGLO-SAXON, Secondary Sceattas, Circa 710-760, silver sceat (0.90 g), Series H, Hamwic type 49, obv. facing 'Wodan' head with pellets below within beaded inner border, eight roundels surrounding with pellets between, cross below, rev long legged bird walking right, pellet cross in annulets either side of neck, above, pellets between tail and leg, with pellet details surrounding, (S.801A, SHRT p.221; Metcalf 285-288, p.325-32; North 103). Very fine, rare.
