IONIA, Phocaia, (c.387-322 B.C.), electrum hekte or sixth stater, (2.504 grams), issued in 327 B.C. [Bodenstedt dating], obv. Athena helmeted head to left, with serpent on blazoned on helmet, rev. quadripartite incuse punch, (cf.S.4530 [£550], Bodenstedt 111 [obv. b, rev **G* same dies], Boston 1913, SNG Cop. 1030, SNG Berry 1086). Good very fine, and rare.

Bodenstedt records one coin from these dies and apparently Bodenstedt knew of 33 examples for this type from all known dies.
