SICILY, Syracuse, End of Second Democracy and Dionysos I, (405-380 B.C.), AE trias, (AE 18), (5.928 grams), obv. head of Athena wearing Corinthian helmet to left, to left [**S*YR]A, rev. hippocamp with curled wing to left, (S.1193, SNG ANS 426-433, BMC 289). Good very fine/very fine and scarce.

Ex Patrick Cooper Collection with his ticket and previously acquired in October 1979. The issue has been reattributed from Timoleon to late 5th century and early 4th century B.C.
