SICILY, Syracuse, period of Timoleon, (344-336 B.C.), AE 27, (19.076 grams), obv. head of Zeus Eleutherios laureate to left, around traces of **IEUS ELEUQERIOS*, rev. free horse prancing to left, **SURA[KOSIWN]*, (S.1191, BMC 311-312, SNG ANS 533-541, Weber 1651). Portrait very fine, minor non active green colouration in obverse field otherwise nearly very fine and very scarce.

Ex Patrick Cooper Collection with his ticket and previously acquired in October 1979.
