MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (17.120 grams), Ake mint, dated year 11 issued 305-304 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, to left I--IO, no monogram below throne, **ALEXANDROU* to right, (cf.S.6713, Price 3302, BMC 3302 [same dies], M.-, Newell Ake No.51). Very fine.
