MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.202 grams), Teos mint, issued c.323-319 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, palm with fillets to left, to right **ALEXANDRO[U]*, and spear head extreme right, (cf.S.6730, Price 2260, BMC 2260, M.321, SNG Berry 230). Good very fine.
