NERO, (A.D. 54-68), AE sestertius, issued c.65, Rome mint, (27.70 g), obv. laureate head to right of Nero, around NERO CLAVD CAESAR AVG GER P M TR P IMP PP, rev. Roma seated to left on cuirass, holding Victory, in exergue ROMA, S C across field, (cf.S.1961, RIC 273, BMC 173). Dark brown patina, minor surface porosity from cleaning, otherwise very fine and rare.
