A.I.F. on first two medals, 777 Pte A.S.Wilkinson 2 A.G.H. A.I.F. on third medal, A.S.Wilkinson on fourth and fifth medals, Dist.Sec. A.S.Wilkinson (N.S.Wales) Dst.Com.Wlth of Australia. S.J.A.B.O. 1923 on last medal, all other medals unnamed. First three medals impressed, other named medals engraved. Display mounted on board, fine - good very fine.

3. St John Ambulance Association First Aid medal with bars for 1911 and 1912 reverse of medal inscribed 135420 Albert S F Wilkinson and the bars inscribed 135420 and 135402 (sic).

5. VAD Australia brooch badge.

6. Silver fob with monogram initials 'AW', reverse inscribed, 'Pres. To A.S.Wilkinson/by/Paddington/Ladies/St John Amb. Class/Sept 1911'.

Albert Samuel Wilkinson, agent, age 23, born at Paddington, Sydney, NSW; qualified for First Aid Certificate 1905 and a member of Paddington Woollahra Division of St John Ambulance Brigade; 1912 was a member of the St John Ambulance contingent that went overseas for 25th anniversary of founding the Brigade in England and attended the Royal Review held by King George V at Windsor; Enl.06Oct1914 at Victoria Barracks, Sydney, NSW; Emb.28Nov1914; to Gallipoli 07Sep1915; to France 30Mar1916; RTA 19Aug1918 per D21 from England for submarine guard duty; Disemb.13Oct1918 Sydney; Disch.12Dec1918; 1919 promoted to Superintendent of Eastern Suburbs St John Ambulance Corps; 1920 District Officer; 1925-28 Brigade representative on NSW Transport Board and also a member of the Road Safety Council of NSW; 1926 District Secretary; 1931-35 Hon General Secretary of the Central Council of the Order of St John; 1937 represented NSW District at the Jubilee Celebrations in London and was presented to the King and Queen at a Royal Review held at Hyde Park; Died Jan1952.

In 1921 Albert Wilkinson was made Serving Brother of the Order; 1928 promoted to grade of Officer Brother; 1940 made a Commander; 1949 promoted to Knight of Grace of the Order; his decorations and awards include Long Service Medal and six bars, King's Jubilee Medal 1935, Coronation Medal 1937, V.A.D. King's Bar and Brooch 1945.
