ATTICA, Athens, (166-57 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.628 grams), issued 145-4 B.C., (Thompson date), but probably 113-112 B.C. (revised chronology), obv. head of Athena Parthenos to right wearing triple-crested Athenian helmet, ornamented with Pegasus, rev. owl standing to right, head facing, in erect posture, on prostrate amphora, to right Triptolemos to left, legend across **A QE, to left downwards **EUM/APEI/DHS; KLEO/MEN; LEWN; SW* below, I on amphora, all within wreath, (cf.S.2555, cf.Thompson 680-1 [similar dies]). Off centred, nearly extremely fine and rare.
