SYRIA, Kingdom of, Seleucus II, (246-226/5 B.C.), AE 18, (4.966 grams), Ecbatana mint, Series I, obv. head of Athena to right wearing crested Attic helmet, dotted border, bevelled edge, rev. elephant guided by his mahout, advancing right, above **[BA]SILEW* below **SELEUKOU*, uncertain monogram behind, (S.-, cf.Newell ESM 554, [p.196, pl.XL, 14-15], SNG Spaer 480). Very fine.

With old 1969 Seaby ticket.
