HADRIAN, (A.D. 117-138), silver denarius, issued 126, Rome mint, (3.136 grams), obv. laureate head to right of Hadrian, drapery on left shoulder, around HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS, rev. COS III around, Concordia seated to left with patera, resting left elbow on Spes, (S.3475, RIC 172, BMC 391, RSC 328). Nearly extremely fine, a very scarce variant.

Ex Patrick Cooper Collection with his ticket and previously from bought in London, in 1October 1986. The Reka Devnia hoard of 88,044 silver coins contained 5892 coins of Hadrian, it contained 67 coins of this type.
