CARACALLA, (A.D. 198-217), silver antoninianus, issued 217, Rome mint, (4.248 grams), obv. radiate bust draped and cuirassed to right of Caracalla, around ANTONINVS PIVS AVG GERM, rev. Serapis standing to left, holding wreath and sceptre, around P M TR P XX COS IIII P P, (S.6780, RIC 289f, RSC 383). Toned, weak legends, otherwise extremely fine and very scarce.
