MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.73 g), Temnos mint, issued c.200 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with no border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, amphora in left field, to right **ALEXANDROU*, (cf.S.6713, Price 1665. BMC 1665, M.952, Mektepini 256-7). Well centred, toned, weakly struck on the reverse, good very fine and an extremely rare issue.
