MACEDON, Kingdom of Philip III, (323-316 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.15 g), Abydos mint, issued 323-317 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right with lion skin, rev. Zeus seated to left, eagle in outstretched hand, sun over horseleg to left in field, **MO* monogram under throne, to right **FILIPPOU*, dotted border, (cf.S.6751, cf.Price P18, BMC -, M.-). Well centred, extremely fine and an unpublished variety.
