PHOENICIA, Tyre, (c. 2nd century B.C. - 1st century A.D.), silver shekel or tetradrachm, (13.99 g), Tyre mint, issued year 87= 40-39 B.C., obv. laureate head of Melqarth beardless to right, dotted border, rev. eagle to left with closed wings, carrying a palm, standing on prow of ship, club to left, above **PZ*, monogram **S/AO in right field, around **TUR OU IERAS [KA]I ASULOU*, dotted border, (S.5918, Cohen [p.504, reports date as C], BMC 174 [p.246], H.1618 [817]). Lightly toned, slightly off centred, extremely fine.
