ANONYMOUS SERIES, (c.280-269 B.C.), AE cast sextans, (54.32 g), obv. Dioscuri head right in conical cap two pellets behind, rev. other Dioscuri head to left in conical cap two dots behind, (S.552 [£150 F], Cr.18/5, Syd.19). Edge break, usual rough surface, fine - very fine and very scarce.

This is a cast Romano-Campanian issue, with a thickness of 12mm, stuck to the reduced liberal standard with an initial weight for the as of 324 grams and a sextans of 54 grams by c.269 B.C. By 217 the semi-liberal standard of an as was 132 grams.
