L. SENTIUS, (101 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.92 g), obv. Roma helmeted head right, [ARG] PVB behind, rev. Jupiter in quadriga to right, L.SENTI.C.F. in exergue, L above, (S.203, Cr.325/1a, Syd.600a, RSC Sentia 1a). Toned, struck on a broad flan, very fine.

The legend ARG PVB translates as 'struck from the public silver' and indicates that the coin was produced from metal withdrawn from the state's bullion reserves.
