VESPASIAN, (A.D. 69-79), silver denarius, Rome mint, issue of A.D. 72-73, obv. IMP CAES VES P AVG PM, laureate head to right, rev. TRI POT, Vesta seated to left holding simpulum, (S.2312, RIC 37, RSC 561). Has been gilt, otherwise very fine.

Ex D.J.Foster Collection and bought from Noble Numismatics Sale 48 (lot 3031) and was previously from Christie's London, Auctions, Oct. 16, 1979 (lot 80 part).
