VICTORIA SUNDRY, George & George Limited, 188[8], one hundred £1 shares and another for eight £1 shares, black on cream; together with two invoices on company letterhead, dated Melbourne 190-. With folds and creases on all, numbers in red ink on back of one certificate, pin and spike holes on invoices, very fine. (4)

George & George was established in Melbourne by two brothers William and Arthur George in 1880 as general drapers, tailors and outfitters. In 1889 the store moved to Collins Street where it traded as 'Georges' until 1995. George & George were exhibitors at the Melbourne Centennial International Exhibition in 1888.
