JOHN I TZIMISCES, (A.D. 969-976), silver miliaresion, (3.612 grams), Constantinople mint, obv. cross crosslet on globus above two steps at centre, circular central medallion of John, I/W A/n within, around IhSUS XRISTUS NICA*, rev. in five lines inscription, with border, (S/1792, DOC 7, BMC 5-6, R.1919). Very fine and rare.
