William John White, shearer, age 27, born at Merino, Victoria; Enl. 29Oct1914 at Hamilton, Victoria; Emb.13Apr1915; to Gallipoli 26May1915; 07Aug1915 WIA in charge at The Nek, Gallipoli, serious bomb wound left arm and knee; 12Aug1915 to hospital at Malta; returned to unit at Gallipoli 25Oct1915; KIA 19Apr1917 Palestine, left unburied due to retirement of unit; commemorated at Jerusalem War Memorial Cemetery.
