Richard Parvin, coal miner, age 19, born at Dalziel, Lanarkshire, Scotland; Enl.12Nov1914 at Hamilton in The Gordon Highlanders and to 10 Bn; operations in France and Flanders from 10May1915; WIA 25/27Sep1915; to UK 02Oct1915 and to 3Bn 10Oct1915; operations in France and Flanders 23Jan1916 with 8 Bn; to UK 13May1916 and later to 10 Bn; operations in France and Flanders 24Aug1916 with 2nd Gordon Highlanders near Buire; noted at Houlle and Mailley Mallet in Nov1916; various medical problems requiring treatment; Disch.13Mar1917; re-enlisted with Labour Corps 14Jun1917; to 6Bn Yorkshire Regt 23Jul1918; with 390th Labour Coy, Nottingham Aug1918; Disch.17Oct1918 as Medically Unfit, defective vision and practically blind in right eye.
