THE KARTS, Pir `Ali, (A.H. 771-784) (A.D. 1369-1382), silver tanka or dinar kebchi, (6.9 grams), Herat mint A.H. [78]2 = A.D. 1379-1380, (A.2353A, M.-). Fine, scarce.

The Karts achieved autonomy after 1336, they began striking coins, but the issues of Pir `Ali are anonymous. Almost all issues were struck at Herat and generally fairly poor in condition.
