RAVEL, Oscar., Descriptive Catalogue of the Collection of Tarentine Coins formed by M.P. Vlasto, Spink, London, 1947, reprint by Obol International 1977, 196 + xi pps., map and 53 plates. Fine, with damage to the spine and very scarce.

Ex Christie's (London) Numismatic Library. This is the most important work that describes with photographs the collection of coins from Tarentum that the owner spent most of his life acquiring. It is the largest collection of this type ever formed with the collection as the reference for description of Tarentine coins. The collection (now dispersed), collected by dies, contains 1881 coins. This the reprint edition is not as fine as the original edition is much superior. This book is essential to correctly identify dies for coins of this city. This book is indispensible to the collector of this series.
