He later published these works on the numismatic history of the colony which formed the foundation for all future publications. These five volumes were special presentation copies which he made for his friend H.G Williams, a coin dealer active in Dunedin during the 1930's and 1940's later passing into the hands of W.F Meek of dunedin (whose book 'currency Tokens of New Zealand Tokens was published in 1951) and then to Wellington coin dealer and author of the 'Premier catalog of New Zealand coins, Tokens and Banknotes' A.W (Tony) Grant in the early 1990's.
