VAN DIEMEN'S LAND, Charge Sheet on parchment dated 15 January 1842, made by Attorney General Thomas Welsh, stating that Richard Singleton, labourer, did steal one gun, a pair of trousers and one shirt being the goods of Robert Johnston, signed by Thomas Welsh, at the left edge is marked, 'Plea not Guilty' and on the reverse is written, 'Found Not Guilty'. Very fine.
Richard Singleton had previously been convicted at Lancaster Assizes and sentenced to Life and transported on the Coromandel departing England 25 June 1838 and arriving at Van Diemen's Land on 26 October 1838.
