THRACE, (Moesia Inferior), Istros, (400-350 B.C.), silver stater, (5.82 g), obv. two young male heads facing, side by side, left inverted, right upright, rev. sea-eagle standing to left on dolphin to left, above **ISTRIH*, which it attacks with its beak, below dolphin A**P*, I ro right, (S.1669; SNG BMC 257, SNG Munich 236, SNG Cop. 194). Toned, extremely fine, very scarce.

Ex Noble Numismatics Sale 85 (lot 1426) and previously from Spink Auctions Sale 31 (lot 1693) and that from the L.J. Dale Collection, New Zealand.
