AUGUSTUS, (27 B.C. - A.D. 14), silver denarius, Pergamum mint, issued 27 B.C. (3.81 g), obv. bare head of Augustus to right to left AVGVST[VS], rev. Laurel wreath interwoven with rostra and tied with fillet, ties drawn upward across center, (S.-, RIC 473, RSC 335, BMCRE 669 = BMCRR East 260, BN 940). Attractive dark tone, slightly off obverse, surface marks on reverse, otherwise good very fine portrait/nearly very fine and rare.
