HADRIAN, (A.D. 117-138), silver denarius, issued 136, Rome mint, (3.35 g), obv. laureate head to right of Hadrian, around HADRIANVS AVG COS III P P, rev. AFRICA across top, Africa reclining to left, holding scorpion and cornucopiae, basket of corn ears at feet, (S.3459, RIC 299, BMC 816, RSC 138). Toned, good very fine/very fine and rare.

The Reka Devnia hoard of 81,044 silver coins contained 5892 coins of Hadrian, it contained 40 coins of this type.
