MARCUS AURELIUS, (A.D. 161-180), AE sestertius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 166, (21.19 g), obv. laureate head of Marcus Aurelius to right, around M AVREL ANTONINVS AVG ARMENIACVS P M, rev. around TR POT XX IMP III COS III, S C across field, Providentia standing to left holding wand and sceptre, at her feet a globe, (cf.S.5008, RIC 923, MIR 18, 12706/30, Banti 429). On a full flan, with an even dark brown attractive patina well centred and very fine, rare.
