COMMODUS, (177-192 A.D.), AE Sestertius (17.81 g), Rome mint, struck AD 183, obv. laureate head to right of Commodus, around M COMMODVS ANTONINVS AVG PIVS, rev. Minerva standing right, wearing skin of Amalthea, brandishing spear and holding shield, around TR P VIII IMP VI COS IIII P P, SC across field, (S.5818, RIC 368b, MIR 587, Banti 457, BMC 511). Very fine with a green and reddish-brown patina.
