ABBASID CALIPHATE, Wathiq, (A.H. 227-232) (A.D. 842-847), gold dinar, (4.00 g), Surr-man-ra'a mint, A.H. 223 (in error) = A.D. 838-839, (A.227). Good very fine and scarce.
The obverse die notes the date and mint which is an issue of the ruler al-Mu'tasim, however the reverse die names the ruler Wathiq.
