Mjr A.R.Blanchard 1/N & D.R. on first medal, 5975 C.S. Mjr A.R.Blanchard 1/Notts & Derby R on second and last medals, as W.O.Cl.2 on third and fourth medals. All medals impressed. Display court Mounted. Very fine.
DCM Supplement LG 22Sep1916 'For Conspicuous gallantry and ability when in charge of two platoons, after his Company Commander and two other officers had become casualties. Twice he rallied the men of several different regiments and led then back to an assault on a trench, which he finally took and made good. His skill, courage and powers of leadership were most marked'.
